Sunday 13th August 2017

Bee Garden Field Day

Since the Bee Garden now has two separate sections, the hive inspections in each will be covering beginners in one section and advanced in the other.

Apiary Demonstrations will cover best methods for preventing swarming of your bees and managing the rapid population growth which will start to happen at this time of year..

Wax – There will be a demonstration of melting wax from old frames, and generally discussing best methods of cleaning and handling wax so you can use it for candle making or cosmetics or soap. A candle dipping setup will be in use on the day so if you haven’t tried candle dipping, here is your chance.

The clubhouse is situated in Myoora Road Terrey Hills NSW 2804.  It is the same entrance as the Par 3 Golf Course. Take the first driveway on the left after you leave Mona Vale Road. Please park in either the Bee Garden car park or outside on Myoora road.

Do not park along the driveway please.

For personal protection, we ask that all visitors to the apiary be appropriately dressed, including hat and veil or equivalent. We have a limited number of veils which can be borrowed. If you have your own, bring it along.
